So 2009 is here and has brought with it a sprinkling of snow for most in the UK. The Premier League has had a welcome break over the past few days although all teams have been involved in FA Cup action.
Liverpool FC finished top of the league for Christmas and New Year and four out of the five teams in the last five years to be top at Christmas have gone on to win the league. Rafa Benetez will surely be hoping thats the case for Liverpool.
Meanwhile Chelsea FC and Man Utd have struggled to keep up. Chelsea FC drawing in their last game against Fulham and Man Utd winning against Middlesborough 1-0 whilst not playing their usual fluent football.
Football fans worldwide will have been opening up their presents on Christmas Day with many receiving football merchandise and football gifts from their loved ones.
